When fatigued, the experience you gain is only a fraction of the normal full experience. You can get rid of mental fatigue by waiting (slow recovery) or by fighting enemies (fast recovery). This is important to know because lower level players with lower level magic may be able to cast high tier scrolls using comprehensions because it is of their school.įrom the Updates Page (November 24, 2012): "When focused on a certain skill, it is possible to become mentally fatigued. lvl10 for Burning Embers), and use a comprehension, you will be able to cast up to one whole tier higher than your current max scroll. Combined, this makes it so that if you are the exact level of a certain tier of your school (EX. A three level bonus is also given to players in the spell school that they are currently learning. It should be noted that players who are able to drink a potion of comprehension will be able to read scrolls up to five levels above their current magic level. This mysterious scroll is unfathomably perplexing.

  • This entire scroll is incomprehensible.
  • Most of this scroll is incomprehensible.

  • You can almost comprehend this scroll, but not quite.
  • Comparable to the colored exclamation marks for the Drinking Skill, different messages appear when the player attempts to use higher level scrolls. Skill Requirements Įvery scroll has a specific level requirement. Scrolls that are glowing give an additional 75% chance of perfect cast. All scrolls of the same school will glow at the same time. In order for there to be a chance that the scroll is perfectly cast, the player must be learning spells, have a casting sash, or any charm/equipment that gives the player a keep chance, or the spell must be glowing. Normally, scrolls can only be cast once before they are consumed. If a scroll is perfectly cast and therefore not consumed, there is no experience gain. Players gain experience in the magic skill by consuming scrolls. 250 gold is required per level to refocus it. Without this skill, scrolls cannot be used at all by the player. They didn't want all mage specs to have it nor trade hence why it's deep arcane now and not early arcane like before.Magic is a skill that allows players to read scrolls. It can be obtained by doing several quests for Magerlin. I believe this is why Blizzard decided to make it Arcane only. Much like how rouges trade tricks, some locks swap DI's, etc. Usefull and good yes, but boring. We would go back to the wrath mentality of you give me your FM and I'll give you mines. Also, in my opinion, Focus Magic should not be a deep talent like that. Because, spamming Arcane Blast mindlessly is REALLY boring and my finger fucking hurts after certain fights.ģ. It would give an open talent for Arcane, making it possible to give Arcane a real damaging ability to make the spec funnier and more interresting than it is. (Also for you guys who are considering Frost mages being overpowered in PvP: Just dispell the ability of his team mate, I doubt he would recast it mid-combat.)Ģ. Frost and Fire would get a great PvE buff with this as baseline and it would bring them closer to Arcanes dps. Do you think Focus Magic should be a baseline ability instead of a deep Arcane ability? My reasonings are:ġ.
